NEW YORK--()--Cupcake Digital, Inc. will develop a brand new series of children’s applications featuring characters from the popular VeggieTales® franchise. The deluxe story and activity apps designed for children, ages 4-7, will feature the high-energy, family-friendly fun inspired by favorite Silly Songs and DVD titles.
The first VeggieTales® enhanced activity app from Cupcake Digital is scheduled for launch in October 2013, as part of Big Idea Entertainment’s comprehensive marketing plan for the upcomingVeggieTales® “Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas” holiday DVD. The activities within the app take place at the Spring Valley Mall where Larry the Cucumber is hard at work as the Head Elf. Kids get to help Larry in the mall and visit shops that offer a variety of creative, educational and imaginative activities. The app will be available day-and-date on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and the Barnes & Noble for NOOK store.
"The VeggieTales® characters, stories and songs naturally lend themselves to this medium," said Cupcake Digital EVP of Brand & Business Development Amory Millard. “’Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas’ is a story that got us into the holiday spirit very early this year, and we can’t wait to share the end result with fans of VeggieTales®."
“We’re delighted to be working with Cupcake Digital, a leading children’s app developer that is known for creating highly engaging and entertaining products,” said Greg Fritz, Big Idea Entertainment’s SVP Home Entertainment & Consumer Products. “It’s very exciting to be able to give fans new ways to play with their favorite characters and take the VeggieTales® experience mobile.”
