'VeggieTales' sets sail with musical 'Noah's Ark'

For the first time in more than four years, the VeggieTales franchise returns to its biblical roots for a musical retelling of Noah's Ark, available March 3 on DVD and digital download. The animated production stars Let's Make a Deal host Wayne Brady as Noah's son Shem and Christian pop singer Jaci Velasquez as his wife, Sadie, and also features seven original songs.

In addition, the release coincides with five new episodes of VeggieTales in the House debuting exclusively on Netflix less than three weeks later, bringing the first season of the series to 15 binge-worthy chapters.

Noah's Ark stars VeggieTales mainstay Pa Grape as Noah, who follows God's instructions and gathers all the animals two by two on his orange-shaped craft before 40 days and 40 nights of a great flood. Just back from his honeymoon, Shem at first questions what his dad is thinking with this excursion when the waters don't come, then gets on board and learns to trust in God as well as understanding Noah's faith.

The DVD also includes a new "Silly Songs with Larry" cartoon featuring the fan-favorite cucumber on a safari hunt for a ginormous golden egg.
